Ingredients
- 1/2 Onion Diced into cubes
- 1 Clove Garlic garlic finely chopped.
- 1 Green chile Serrano Pepper, medium diced into cubes
- 1 tsp Cumin seeds
- 1/2 tsp Turmeric powder
- 1 tbsp Salt or to taste
- 1 cup Toor dhal Yellow lentil/Toor dhal/Pigeon pea
- 4 cup Water
- ½ Lemon squeezed lemon juice
- Cilantro for garnish
- 4 tsp Vegetable oil

Instructions
- Put enough oil to coat the vessel
- Sauté cumin seeds and onions in medium heat or lower. Don’t allow the oil/onion to stick to the bottom of the vessel.
- When the onions are golden brown, add garlic, green pepper, and turmeric and continue to stir for a minute on the low heat.
- Turn off the Instant Pot
- Add four cups of water.
- Add Lentil
- Cook under pressure for 15 minutes.
- Cool Naturally
- Add Salt and Lemon juice
- Add cilantrto (or parsley) as garnish
